Visit Uganda for an African Journey of a Lifetime!
Uganda is the least well known of East Africa's major safari holiday destinations and is best known for its Gorilla Trekking Safaris. Whilst gorilla in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and chimpanzee trekking at several locations including Kibale Forest are undoubtedly a great reason to visit Uganda the country has a great deal more to offer.
The whole country is very scenic with friendly people and some interesting National Parks which include Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth, Lake Mburo and Kibale Forest National Parks all of which can be combined in a safari circuit which includes the mountain gorillas in Bwindi. The introduction of scheduled Internal flight services has also made it possible to visit most of these areas on a flying circuit which eliminates some long drives between points of interest.
As a general rule the wildlife is not as prolific or as varied as in the world famous reserves of East Africa but new direct flights to the Serengeti and Maasai Mara make it possible to combine gorilla trekking with a few days in Kenya or Tanzania.
A Uganda safari holiday will not disappoint and whilst the quality of accommodation and guiding is improving rapidly it is not as well developed as in neighbouring countries the friendliness of the local people and reasonable prices do more than compensate.
